proverbs 22.

“sayings of the wise” that’s one of the titles of this chapter, so i’m guessing whatever it’s going to say should be relatively important.

and the first thing i notices is this:

“Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man,do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.” Proverbs 22:24-25

such words of wisdom, i remember my parents saying this to me all the time. my parents and my friends say that i’m a social person, and i like to engage in conversations and listen to people talk. but i’m also very easily influenced. i know that too. you know when someone says something over and over again, it just kind of catches on, and you find yourself kind of saying it sometimes as well?

that happens to me A LOT. sometimes i catch myself doing it, and by the time that happens, it’s too late for me to switch back. here,  let me give you an example.

i tend to swear a lot now. i know i’m not supposed to but… i kind of do anyway.

so i go on this site called tumblr, it’s basically a blogging site but for pictures and artistic things like that, and i really enjoy it.  i try to follow bloggers that don’t post sexual things or whatnot, but sometimes the people i follow posts funny gifs that involve swear words. and i read them in my head, and the next thing you know, i start dropping word bombs.

i guess it kind of relates to the verse, but not necessarily the friends part. i think it’ll relate more to this generation of kids if it’s about websites and internet related stuff, because that’s what we’re attached to nowadays, less face to face friends, but more internet friends.

so i guess everyone just has to be careful where we go on on the internet and be careful of what we catch on to.
