proverbs 26.

i think i’ve mentioned this before, but i’m considered one of the “gossip queens” at school.

i guess  i do gossip a lot, and i actually really enjoy it. i know i’m not supposed to… but to me it’s like listening to stories and telling it to other people. i just love to listen to other people telling me things, either about themselves or someone else, i just find it so intriguing. i seriously can do it all day. there’s just so much to know a person. i’ve heard things about a person that i don’t even personally know. i don’t talk to him at all, and he’s not even in my grade. he probably doesn’t even know i exist, but i know a lot of personal things about him.

isn’t that weird?

imagine if you had a complete stranger know all the personal things about yourself, but you guys have never even said a simple “hi” to each other. i’m just…. mindblown.

i honestly love our grade [classof2015! woohoo!], and i hate to say this, but our grade is the most fake grade in the history of fake students. we honestly gossip about everyone, even some of our closest friends. i’m pretty sure a lot of us just pretend to like each other but secretly do not. it’s kind of crazy how that works, but it just does.
“Without wood a fire goes out;without gossip a quarrel dies down.” Proverbs 26:20

it’s not like our grade quarrels a lot, but we pick out every single flaw about a person and completely judge them by that, and people’s feelings get hurt. and then there’ll be this huge dramatic stage where people take sides, and it’ll take a lot of time before we’re all united as friends again.

maybe we should stop the gossip and just be true to each other and talk things out, there might be less “talk behind backs” and feelings hurt. it’s really kind of hard to change habits now, but just take one step at a time. and we’ll get through it.

[i’m going to miss all the stories…]
