proverbs 11.

i’m going to talk about gossiping again.it’s been a reoccurring topic in proverbs.

“A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.” Proverbs 11:13

time for a story: so i’m the kind of person that gossips a lot (i’m sure i’ve told you this a billion times already) and a lot of people tell me things. i tend to tell other people the things they’ve told me, it’s a cycle that goes on and on. i’m friends with people who aren’t so friendly to each other, and sometimes i’m friends with people i don’t really like. so behind their backs i say things that hurt people’s feelings and i forget who i’m talking to at times.

so this one time, i accidentally said something to a friend, who’s a friend of the person i’m talking bad about… and it didn’t turn out good. i’m not going to go into details of what happened.

but i know i’ve betrayed a friend and now the friendship between us isn’t that good anymore because of me. it wasn’t necessarily a secret or anything, but i still felt like i’ve betrayed the friendship.

i have to say gossiping is kind of fun, but if you’re willing to put your friendship on the line, i guess you can give it a try.
