proverbs 15.

i think i’ve made this point clear before, but i usually don’t find the bible very amusing… but sometimes the things they put in it… i don’t know whether it’s trying to make a really important point, or just trying to make me laugh.

“Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred.” Proverbs 15:17

i find this very amusing, i don’t know why… maybe because it was just out of the blue. vegetables are better than meat when they’re made out of love. i don’t hear people saying that often.

if i were to explain this passage… okay let me use an analogy.

one thing i really do not like to eat is bell peppers… they just… i just don’t like them, they’re kind of gross.. but one thing i do like to eat is chocolate. i can eat chocolate forever and i’ll be satisfied.

so if i were to put this verse in a jar, and make it more realistic it’ll look a little something like this.

basically if i had to choose between my mom giving me bell peppers, and nothing else, for dinner and this pedophile giving me a box of chocolates, i would choose the bell peppers. because it’s my mother and it’s made out of love. i wouldn’t go eat some chocolate from a stranger because i don’t know what’s in the chocolate or what he’s going to do when i have the chocolates…

it’s pretty much the same concept. trust the people you love because they won’t ever backstab you.
